Dacre Castle

Last month I visited England I stayed in a hotel known as Mell View Cottage. One day I was talking to an employee of the hotel, and he told me that there is a historical building Dacre Castle located near the hotel. I always love exploring new places. So I decided to visit Castle, my next concern was about transport. One of my friends lived near Lutan Airport he suggested to me booked the cab of company, according to him many people booked the cabs of this firm so, acting upon his advice I decided to book the cab for my destination. In the English county of Cumbria, 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Penrith, is the settlement of Dacre, where Dacre Castle is located. The Dacre family owned it until the 17th century. It was built in the middle of the 14th century, most likely by Margaret Multon, against the backdrop of the threat of Scottish invasion and attacks. The tower house has four jutting turrets from a central block, is 66 feet (20 metres) tall, made of local sandstone, is crowned with crenellations, and has an elaborate lavabo in the main hall. The castle is now being utilised as a private residence after being renovated in the 1670s and 1960s after years of neglect.

Margaret Multon, Ralph's wife, most likely began construction on Dacre Castle in the middle of the fourteenth century. The Dacre family had gained notoriety in Cumbria during the 12th and 13th centuries, and in 1307, Ralph's father, William Dacre, obtained permission to crenellate the land of Dunmallogt, which was not far from the future location of Dacre Castle.

Ralph eventually married Margaret in 1317, and as a result, he amassed enormous wealth. Then, sometime in the fourteenth century, Margaret constructed Dacre Castle. She intended to create a stunning, fortified home when she built it.
