Stirling Castle Beheading Stone The Stirling Castle Beheading Stone is a unique piece of Scottish history. Located in the grounds of Stirling Castle, the stone is believed to be the site of the execution of William Wallace, the Scottish patriot and leader of the First War of Scottish Independence. The stone is a large, flat, rectangular block of sandstone, measuring approximately 2.5 metres long and 1.5 metres wide.
